Rita Hayworth was one of the all-time silver screen beauties — drop-dead gorgeous and with the acting chops to match! She was mostly known for her memorable film noir roles in movies like Lady from Shanghai and Gilda. Who better than to play one of the most complex and sensual characters in the bible – Salome!

This nearly 5 foot tall Japanese STB is amongst the best posters for the film. Whoever decided to use a nearly full-length nude portrait of Rita stepping out of the shower as the lead advertising image must have taken a page out of Howard Hughes playbook! This poster easily one of the most risqué advertising campaigns to come out of Hollywood in the 1950s. it’s even pretty bold by today’s standards!
