Clint Eastwood directs and stars as “Preacher” in this awesome mid-80s western. Sadly, the 1980s was a terrible time to release a great western–coming after the 60s/70s boom of revisionist western and before Eastwood’s own Unforgiven revitalized the genre in the early 1990s. Massively under-appreciated.
There were two artists who created designs for the Pale Rider campaign — C. Michael Dudash’s head-shot style was primarily used in the US and David Grove’s medium shot with guns drawn was mainly used overseas. While both are incredible works of art, Grove’s design set against an abstract and colorful sun has proved the more desirable over time. This poster is the rare, larger-size Japanese B1 — rolled and in wonderful condition.
