The German 3-sheet for Metropolis is probably one of the most universally recognized film posters — a stunning and imposing art deco masterpiece! There are only a handful of known originals and even if you could find one for sale privately it would probably cost $1 million or more! This is your chance to own high quality recreation made using the process as the original. In the mid 1990s, the “S2 Art Group” bought and refurbished a series of 100 year-old lithograph presses. They then created brand new stone litho printing plates for classic movie posters and printed them using the old process. These new printings were done on high quality acid-free paper and the detail pops on the flat finish. This poster was printed on 3 separate, overlapping pieces of paper, just as the original was. At 81″ tall it would make an incredible statement in any room. If you don’t have a $1,000,000+ handy to purchase one of the originals, this is the next best thing!
