Restoration: Linen-backed
Grade: C6 Fine. Rolled, single-sided. Prior to linen-backing this poster showed moderate wear from recruiting use, but most of the flaws were limited to the extreme edges and did not extend into the art. The poster has pinholes, and a few small edge tears, including one which had tape residue from an old repair. There was some minor chipping to the outer white border in the upper left and lower right corners, and a small water stain on the lower edge. Now appears Near Mint.
There are few posters in the history of the medium that are more recognizable than this “I Want You” poster. Part patriotism, part propaganda, this poster is in a class by itself — truly iconic!
