Restoration: Linen-backed

Grade: C5 Very Good to Fine. Folded, single-sided. Prior to linen backing the poster was brittle with edge/fold/handling wear, chipping and paper loss at the edges and several misfolds along the bottom. Expert restoration including small paper fills and airbrushing to the background have addressed all of these flaws and the poster now appears very fine to near mint.

This 1st release Spanish poster features wonderful artwork from Macario Gómez Quibus, better known simply as “mac”, which itself is based on the original UK artwork from Renato Fratini. However, instead of simply adapting the Fratini design to a portrait orientation, “mac” came up with several unique additions including a battle between Bond and Grant, played by Robert Shaw, and what is arguably a more faithful representation of Daniela Bianchi as Tatiana. While at first glance this Spanish 1-sheet might appear to be a “knock-off” of the UK art, it is a unique and highly desirable design that commands it’s own premium!
