Close Encounters of the Third Kind was Spielberg’s follow-up to his monster hit Jaws. Not surprisingly, he turned out another masterpiece with one of the most amazing films about extraterrestrial “first-contact” ever! This Japanese poster is extremely rare and one of the only first release posters to feature both the alien spacecraft and the iconic Devil’s Tower set. While this is not a theatrical poster, it was a very rare bonus poster only made available to theater goers during the first release. Like the similar theater-only “Starfall” Japanese design for Return of the Jedi, this is one of the few commercial posters that is in greater demand than the studio-issued posters!
