In an era awash with terrible, big-budget studio flops like Dr. Doolittle, The Graduate was a breath of fresh air for younger cinemagoers reeling from the ongoing conflict in Vietnam, government corruption at home, and protests and flower-power on the streets. This was THE defining film for many of the Baby Boomer generation and it’s success and popularity cannot be over emphasized. Amazingly, if you adjust box office results for inflation, population and moviegoing trends, it is the second-most popular film of all time!
This playful French 1-panel has a great take on the popular “leg” imagery from the film. It’s no mystery what thoughts are on young Benjamin Braddock’s mind!
