Grade: C7 Fine to Very Fine. Folded, single-sided. Prior to linen backing this was a theater used poster with minor handling/edge/fold wear, several pinholes in each corner, some small edge/fold splits and cross fold separation, some writing on the back that didn't bleed through and the paper was a bit fragile with age. After expert restoration it now appears near mint.

While Stage Fright is filled with the typical trademark Hitchcock elements of suspense, murder and jealousy, it also featured rare comedic elements making it one of his lighter films. Perhaps even more interesting today are the unreliable narrators that were off-putting to some audiences at the time of it’s release (in America especially) while praised by others as more realistic and challenging (Cahiers du cinéma in France). For a film about theater, glamour and appearance, it is also famous for Marlene Dietrich’s incredible costumes from designer Christian Dior.

This Italian poster features a gorgeous design from one of the masters of Italian film art — Luigi Martinati. It is also the best poster to highlight the stunning Christian Dior gown worn by Marlene Dietrich!
