Grade: C5 Very Good to Fine. Folded, single-sided. Prior to linen backing the poster had Handling/edge/fold wear, surface wear, extra fold lines, cross fold separation, and staple holes. Expert restoration has addressed these flaws and the poster now appears very fine to near mint.

Could there be a more ionic poster from the 1960s flower-power era? This stunningly simple design will make anyone yearn for the open road! This important re-release poster also illustrates why “first release” doesn’t always translate to the highest value in the world of vintage posters. The three original release poster designs from 1969 all had variations of the gorgeous illustrated Peter Fonda artwork featured on this poster, but they lacked any depiction of the motorcycles so central to the film’s sense of freedom. When the film was brought back to theaters for a small re-release in 1972 they corrected this omission and in turn created the most desirable poster for the film.
